Chandra Shekhar Ghosh
Chairman & Managing Director
Mr. Ghosh with over 30 years of experience has been a force to reckon with in the microfinance and development terrain. His grasp over the subject is exemplary which has won him recognition in the fraternity. A 'Senior Ashoka Fellow', Mr. Ghosh has deliberated on the discipline of Microfinance at various institutes of international repute viz. IIMA, IIMC, IIM Indore, IIT Guwahati, IIFT, IRMA, NIFT, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, as well as national and international forums. One of his papers was presented at the prestigious 86th Annual Conference of Western Economic Association International (WEAI) in San Diego, USA.
By virtue of his peerless leadership, he adorns a number of important chairs in the esteemed sectorial associations. He is one of the founding fathers of Association of Microfinance Institutions (AMFI) West Bengal, a self-regulatory organization encompassing MFIs having their operation in West Bengal. He has the distinction of being one of the Committee Members of the Core Team that Small Industries Development Bank of India(SIDBI) has formed for its Partner MFIs to advise in the policy making process. He is a member of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Sector Committee, Government of West Bengal.
Mr. Ghosh is a member of 'State Level Review & Coordination Committee on Credit Delivery Innovation' constituted by NABARD. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India (ASSOCHAM) have constituted two special committees on 'Financial Inclusion & Microfinance' and 'Banking & Finance'. Mr. Ghosh is a distinguished member of both the committees. The membership at Social Development and Community Affairs Sub-Committee constituted by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has also been conferred upon him. Mr. Ghosh has been invited to Co - Chair the crucial committee on financial inclusion constituted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for the year 2015. Recently, Mr. Ghosh has been invited to be a member in the Inclusive Governance Council (IGC) formed by FICCI. He is also a distinguished member in FICCI's Banking & Financial Institutions (FI) Committee for the FY 2014-15.
Microfinance India is an international platform which is guided by Microfinance India Group of Advisors. Mr. Ghosh is the part of the said group. He has been elected as the Vice President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). Recently, he has been invited to be a member of the Advisory Committee for the 2013 Partnerships against Poverty Summit to be organized by Microcredit Summit Campaign. M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation has formed its Conference Advisory Committee on Financial Inclusion & concurrent development of payment systems and infrastructure, titled FIPS DELHI 2013. Mr. Ghosh has been invited to grace the position in this distinguished committee. He has recently been invited to Chair the committee on Economic Affairs, Finance & Taxation Sub Committee constituted by CII for the FY 2015-16 and joined as a member of the CII National Committee on NBFCs. Recently he has been selected as a co-opted member in the Executive Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
He holds an M.Sc. in Statistics and has attended the HBS-ACCION Program on Strategic Leadership for Microfinance at Harvard Business School.
Mr.Yogesh Chand Nanda
After working for a short period as a Lecturer in the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and as Probationary Officer in the State Bank of India, he joined RBI as a junior officer. He was appointed as the Managing Director of NABARD and later served as the Chairman. After his superannuation, the Government of India appointed him as a full time member of The National Commission of Farmers.
He is presently working as Non - Executive Chairman of the Agriculture Finance Corporation. In addition, he is also associated with some institutions in the sectors of micro finance, rural development, and management education. He has worked as consultant to international organizations like the FAO, IFAD, UNOPS, an Gtz [Germany] and national level institutions like the NCAER, SRTT etc. The Planning commission had appointed him as Chairman of the Working Group for the formulation of the 11th plan for agriculture credit and the cooperatives. He completed his Post Graduation from the Delhi School of Economics, securing first division and the first rank in the University.
Mr. Sisir Kumar Chakrabarti
Mr. Sisir Kumar Chakrabarti had been a career banker and after having served the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur joined Axis Bank and has since retired from Axis Bank from the Office of the Deputy Managing Director.
Mr. Chakrabarti’s long banking experience will add substantial value to the performance of Bandhan Board.
Mr. Ranodeb Roy
Mr. Roy was a Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Asia Pacific in Morgan Stanley, responsible for the Fixed Income Division with around 200 people for Rates, Foreign Exchange, Emerging Markets, Credit, Structured Credit and Special Situations across all of Asia. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Roy worked in Merrill Lynch, Hong Kong as Managing Director, Co-Head of Fixed Income Currency and Commodities (FICC) group in 2007, responsible for FICC business across Asia. Over the years, he also held various senior positions in Merrill Lynch across major locations including New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Mr. Roy started his career at Bank of America in Mumbai in 1992.
Mr. Roy received his MBA from Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad, India in 1992, ranked 1st in the final year of his batch with a major in Finance and Marketing; received his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur in 1990. He also won distinguished awards including being the Gold Medalist, ranked all India first in the 1986 Indian School Certificate Exams and was also a Gold Medalist in the 1984 ISCE exams from La Martiniere College, Kolkata.
Mr. Vishwanath Prasad Singh
He has worked as Executive Director in IDBI, Chairman of Tourism Finance Corporation of India, IDBI Capital Market Services Ltd. and Assets Care Enterprise Ltd., Principal Trustee of IDBI Mutual Fund and Director of IDBI Bank, National Securities Depository Ltd., National Stock Exchange Ltd. He was the Chairman of Governing Boards of Management Development Institute Gurgaon and Institute of Labour Development, Jaipur.
He was selected by Commonwealth Secretariat, London and posted in Tanzania for nearly 3 years as Executive Director (Operations) in Tanzania Development Finance Company Ltd. (TDFL). Was Director of Eurafrican Bank, a leasing finance company, a venture capital fund and hotel management company promoted by TDFL. He has also had international exposure with leading financial institutions, viz., World Bank, ADB, IFC (Washington), CDC London, DEG, KFW, Japan Development Bank and European Investment Bank. He was also associated with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd on consulting contract as Director, Global Financial Services till March, 2009.At present, he is an independent Director on the boards of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd, GMR Industries Ltd. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.He has completed M.Com, CAIIB, Bachelor of Laws and also received specialized training in Corporate Restructuring and Investment Banking in India, USA and Japan.
Mr. Rajendra Kumar Ghose
Mr. Rajendra Kumar Ghose, M.A. (Pol. Sc), LL.B practiced as an advocate at Guwahati High Court, District and other courts for around 5 years.
Ranked first in Tripura Judicial Service Examination, 1975 but joined the Judicial Service in 1976. Worked in different capacities, such as, Munsiff-cum-Judicial Magistrate, 1st class, subordinate judge, Chief Judicial magistrate etc. By successive promotion he became Grade-I (selection grade) Judicial Officer.
Mr. Ghose has worked in various capacities in the Judiciary such as District & Sessions Judge, Member Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Land .Acquisition Judge, Special Judge under prevention of Corruption Act, President District Consumers Redressal Forum, Chairman Tripura State Human Rights Committee, Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal,etc.
In 1980 Lok Sabha Election, he was appointed as Election- Observer by the Election Commision of India, New Delhi.
Out of some officers selected by the Government of India, Shi Ghose was finally selected by the Government of U.K. as a solitary candidiate from India fo undergoing “Government Legal Advisors Course” at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, London University and had successfully completed the course.
On deputation under Government of Tripura, Shi Ghose also worked as Legal Remembrance & Secretary, Law & Parliamentary Affairs.
Mr. Ghose retired from service on 28th February, 2003.
Mr. Buddhadev Dasgupta
Nominee Director, IDBI Bank Limited
As CGM, IDBI Bank, Mr. Buddhadev Dasgupta heads the mid-corporate sector of the bank on an all-India basis. Soon upon graduating from Jadavpur University, he worked for 5 years with Macniel & Magor Ltd. before joining as an Industrial Finance Officer, IDBI Bank, Mumbai.
Over the years he has worked in different disciplines viz. corporate finance, resource mobilisation, administration, HRD etc. at IDBI’s Head office in Mumbai as well as the main branch offices at Chandigarh and Kolkata. During his long tenure with IDBI Bank he has worked for the major period in Corporate Finance. Mr. Dasgupta has worked as a General Manager in Project Appraisal Department and looked after the new projects in the infrastructure and the manufacturing sector. However, his main focus was the Renewable Energy sector for which he has attended several conferences both as a speaker and a participant.
Besides being an Electrical Engineer he is also a post graduate in Operations Research and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Mr. Pradip Kumar Saha
Nominee Director, SIDBI
Mr. Pradip Kumar Saha, Chief General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) is a senior development banker with more than 36 years of experience in development banking. He started his banking career with IDBI and has been with SIDBI since its inception. During his long career in IDBI & SIDBI, he has handled various departments, some as Head of Department. Specific contributions made by him in HR, Project Finance, SIDBI Foundation for Micro Credit (SFMC), Promotion and Development departments is worth mentioning. At present, he is heading SIDBI Foundation for Micro Credit and Promotion and Development Vertical of the Bank and leading the Poorest State Inclusive Growth Programme being implemented by SIDBI in the four states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa with the support from DFID, UK.
As a development banker, he was involved in the formulation of various developmental programmes and policy level interventions initiated by SIDBI. He has been a member of various committees of the Bank at the highest level. He has had the opportunity to participate in various national and international programmes conducted by reputed organizations/agencies like Harvard Business School [USA], Asian Institute of Management [Philippines], Cranfield School of Management [UK], Small Business Administration [USA]. He was a part of Indian SME delegation to USA in the year 1999 and also lead a MSME delegation to the World SME Expo [Hong Kong] in the year 2008. Currently, he is on the Board of four MFIs and also a member of the Sa-Dhan Board.
Ms. Georgina Baker
Nominee Director, IFC
Georgina Baker is the Director of Trade and Supply Chain for IFC. She is responsible for IFC's suite of trade and supply chain finance products, starting with the Global Trade Finance Program which is the IFC flagship trade program. Under her leadership IFC’s short term finance product offerings have expanded to include the Global Trade Liquidity Program which has won many awards for its crisis response, the Global Trade Supplier Finance Program, the Global Warehouse Finance Program, the Critical Commodity Finance Program as well as structured trade transactions. In addition Georgina is jointly responsible with Pierre Guislain for IFC's engagement in Fragile and Conflict Affected States.
Georgina has been with the IFC for over 21 years during which time she has worked on IFC’s investments in many areas including manufacturing investments in Eastern Europe and financial sector investments in South Asia, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa.
Before joining IFC, Georgina received an MBA from the London Business School and previously worked in the UK and in Indonesia as a mechanical engineer.
Mr. Pankaj Sood
Nominee Director, Caladium Investment Pte. Ltd.

Pankaj has been with GIC Special Investments, the private equity arm of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), since December 2009 and heads the direct investments (private equity) practice in India. Pankaj has over 14 years of experience in private equity and M&A transactions in India. He joined GIC in Singapore and helped set up the India office in Mumbai, where he is based now. He has a special focus on India investments with the most recent investments being Kotak Mahindra Bank, Genpact, Marico, Hero Motocorp and Fortis Healthcare.
Prior to joining GIC, Pankaj was an M&A banker in India for over 10 years, with 6 years at Kotak Investment Bank where he headed the Retail and Oil & Gas practices. He was earlier employed at Ernst & Young and SBI Capital Markets. Some of the transactions concluded by him as a banker included Wal-Mart’s joint venture with Bharti and acquisition of controlling stake by Standard & Poor’s in CRISIL.
Pankaj is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (1999) and a Chemical Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (1996).
Mr. Asit Pal
A versatile banker with over 32 years of extensive experience Mr. Pal began his banking career in Allahabad Bank as a Direct Recruited Officer; he later joined Bank of Baroda as a Credit Officer and has since retired as an Executive Director of Corporation Bank.
A keen strategic leader with expertise in planning, credit, risk management and investments, he has worked under different capacities in branches, regional / zonal offices and administrative offices across India. Mr. Pal has worked in abroad too as an Internal Auditor of UK and Brussels Operations in Bank of Baroda.
A true adopter of management strategy he has always taken an active role in the drafting of policies and its implementation which had a significant influence on growth and expansion. Mr. Pal has held very senior positions with reputed organizations. He was a member of IBA Committee on Basel II Implementation & Risk Management for the year 2009-10, acted as a member of the advisory board on bank, commercial and financial frauds appointed by Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), Delhi and was a member of implementation committee of the Basant Seth Committee Report on internal audit and concurrent audit in public sector banks.
